The goal of thyroid treatment is to establish and maintain the right level of thyroid hormone in your body, and Synthroid can help to achieve that goal.
It may take several months to adjust your dose of medication (a process called titration), whether it is Synthroid or another levothyroxine product. Don't be discouraged. It may take a while for your doctor to find the right dose for you. It may take several weeks for you to feel the medication is working.
